This is the JW PEI Abacus Mini Bag in Orange Faux Fur.
Brand
JW PEI — a Chinese-American sustainable fashion brand launched in 2016, now super popular with Gen Z. They’re known for vegan leather, recycled materials, and viral TikTok/Instagram bags. The “Abacus” is one of their most recognizable styles. Price tag shows ₦120K = Nigerian Naira, so this is from a boutique in Nigeria.
Design Details
Color & Material: Bright orange shaggy faux fur — also called “mongolian fur” or “fluffy shearling-style.” It’s long-pile, fuzzy, and textured. This is JW PEI’s fall/winter statement material. The body and the top handle are both covered in fur.
Shape: Mini crescent/hobo silhouette. The bag body is soft and slouchy, gathering into a single handle. The “Abacus” name comes from the original version that had acrylic bead details — this fur version keeps the same shape but swaps beads for texture.
Handle: Single knotted top handle made of the same faux fur, with a chunky orange resin/acrylic bangle slid onto it. The bangle is decorative and structural — it’s JW PEI’s signature “bangle handle” detail. You carry it crook-of-arm or as a top handle.
Function:
Magnetic or zip closure hidden under the fur.
Mini size: fits phone, card case, lipstick, keys. It’s a going-out bag, not for work.
Fully lined, usually in satin.
Style vibe: Maximalist, Y2K meets cozy-luxe, dopamine dressing. The bright orange + fluffy texture is bold and playful. This bag is designed to be the whole outfit. It’s winter/fall coded but people wear it year-round for the drama.
